Ms. Lillian Zadra, Principal lzadra@stmatthewseattle.com 206-362-2785 x101 Dear
Families, St.
Matthew School has been educating and graduating students for over 50 years,
opening its doors in 1955. Since
that time, the school has grown and flourished in numerous ways. Remodeling projects have included
seismic upgrades, the addition of seventh and eighth grade portables, a Science
and Art Center, as well as extended care facilities and access to a Community
Center where our students gather for assemblies, have health and fitness
classes and join in enriching parish celebrations. With
an outstanding curriculum tailored to the needs of our students, our core
subjects are enhanced with instruction in Spanish, Art, Music and Fitness. Faculty and staff members, along with
our students, are Lifelong Learners.
Great emphasis is placed on service learning allowing St. Matthew students
to become active members of the community, sharing their time and talents. Through
all of the changes and challenges, the school’s mission remains the same: to work in partnership with the
families and parish to provide an environment that helps children develop into
competent, compassionate, and community-minded young men and women. Our
Student Learning Expectations reflect what is most important to our school: A
