Homework
Homework will come home daily in the student's "Take Home Folder". Please return the homework and the folder the next day. Reading Log Students are expected to read a book of their choice for at least 20 minutes every day, including weekends and holidays. Students can read with parent, silently, or to a sibling or friend. Students record their reading minutes on the Reading Log. Also, they should write short reading responses and one book review each week. (See Reading Log for details) Parents are highly encouraged to read aloud to their children. Research shows that children who are read to often build vocabulary, have improved comprehension and are motivated to read more. Also, reading with a parent can count for the Reading Log! Monthly Book Reports The directions will be given one week prior to the due date. There is no reading log assigned on book report weeks to allow time to create the book reports. Grading
