I hope you will stop by the library during the next few weeks. You will notice some changes: a new Middle School Student Space as well as relocation of the circulation area. Those who know me well are not surprised by the decision to "shake things up" - I'm always trying new ideas.
The school supplies have hardly been used and binders are still neat and tidy ... yet the library will be the center of excitement beginning September 5 as the Scholastic Book Fair opens.
Due to budget constraints, we will be depending on book fairs and other fundraisers to provide funds to support purchasing new books and hosting an author. Three book fairs are scheduled - September, February, and May.
The first Scholastic Book Fair (click here to access book fair home page) is scheduled to begin September 5 and continue through September 12. The sales profit from this fair will be used to purchase books and materials for the library. If our sales go over $2500, we can take profit in cash. This is a bonus because it allows us to save for author visits.
