Julie Prepotente, Principal jprepotente@stmattschool.org 206-362-2785, ext. 102
Dear Parents, It is with a humble heart that I write this letter as the new principal of St. Matthew School. I have been a dedicated member of the St. Matthew community for the past 29 years. I began my journey in the ESS program and then an aide in the kindergarten classroom. It was through my love of the children and of the community that I decided to become a teacher and have been the kindergarten teacher here for the past 22 years, and now the school principal.
Our goal is to ensure that all students, staff, visitors and families feel safe at school physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually so that we can learn as much as possible from each other. We are committed to working with you in instilling the teachings of Jesus, in providing your children with a meaningful learning environment and in upholding the values of PRISM – Pride, Respect,Inclusion, Safety and Manners every day.
We will strive to create, develop, strengthen and bridge relationships among school, parish and wider community. As the principal, I will find opportunities to positively lead the community forward by reflecting on the past history, where we are today and how we can improve so that tomorrow will be filled with hope for the future of St. Matthew School.
The first part of our mission statement reads, “St. Matthew School, in partnership with home and parish.” By working together, WE can make St. Matthew School the best it can be. I am excited, grateful, honored and blessed to serve you as your new principal.
