Robotics Club and Team
Robotics Club for students in Grades 3-5:
All work is performed in teams of 2 or 4 students per robot. Teamwork is a crucial skill in the modern workplace, and the challenges of the robotics activities lend themselves to group solutions. Each team member will have different roles with those roles changing on a regular basis, allowing students to share responsibility for all aspects of building, programming, etc.
Middle School Competitive Robotics Team, Grade 8: VEX Competitions task teams of students with designing and building a robot to play against other teams in a game-based engineering challenge. Classroom STEM concepts are put to the test as students learn lifelong skills in teamwork, leadership, communications, and more. Tournaments are held year-round at the regional, state, and national levels and culminate at the VEX Robotics World Championship each April. Last year our 8th grade team won the Seattle VEX IQ League! Coordinator: Mr. Paul Burke, ptburke@stmattschool.org, 206 362-2785 |
